Pathways Clubhouse Earns Awards for Impact, Announces New Housing Project in Richmond
Pathways Clubhouse, a Richmond-based non-profit supporting mental health recovery, is celebrating a milestone year of national recognition and local impact. Named among Canada’s top impact charities of 2025 by Charity Intelligence Canada, the organization is also preparing to open an 80-unit affordable housing development in early 2026. Together, these achievements elevate Pathways’ mission to empower individuals living with mental illness through inclusive, recovery-focused programs that prioritize housing, employment, education, and social connection.
Pathways earned top honours for its exceptional social return on investment, securing a spot on Charity Intelligence’s Top 5 Vancouver Impact Charities and its nationally focused Top 5 Homeless-Serving Charities. These rankings are based on the organization’s proven ability to generate high-impact outcomes for every dollar donated.
At the core of Pathways’ success is the Clubhouse Model, accredited by Clubhouse International – a person-centred framework that helps people rebuild their lives by focusing on their strengths rather than their diagnosis. Since 1984, Pathways has helped members regain independence, find meaningful work, access education, and build supportive relationships within the community.

Coming Soon: Rio Vista Housing Development
Opening in early 2026, Rio Vista will offer 80 affordable rental homes – ranging from studio to three-bedroom units – with select units designed for accessibility. Developed in partnership with the City of Richmond and BC Housing, the project will significantly expand local access to supportive housing, advancing Pathways’ commitment to long-term mental health recovery and housing stability.
“Our team and members have worked tirelessly to turn recovery into opportunity,” said Dave MacDonald, CEO, Pathways Clubhouse. “This recognition affirms our impact – but true success is measured by the lives we change. Through stable employment and income, our programs help people move beyond homelessness. At the same time, we expand access to subsidized housing, helping to provide the stability, security, and safe shelter everyone deserves.”
“This recognition is a testament to our organization-wide commitment – board, leadership, and staff – to operate with transparency, uphold the highest standards of excellence, and manage our resources responsibly,” said Patti Martin, Board President. “Together, we are dedicated to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental illness, and building a future where every person has access to the support and housing they deserve.”
